In yesterday's MTV VMA nomination announcements, Lady Gaga nabbed a record breaking 13 nominations including Video of the Year twice, for "Bad Romance" and her collabo with Beyoncé in "Telephone."
"I'm so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history," says Gaga. "Ironically, I'm even more proud it's an unlucky number: 13."
Beyonce grabbed 5 nominations for categories Best Pop Video, Best Female Video, Best Collaboration, Best Collaboration, and Best Art Direction.
And Eminem has the second most noms with 8, mostly for his "Not Afraid" vid. Others nominated: Nicki Minaj (for her Sean Garrett collabo "Massive Attack", Drake for "Find Your Love," B.o.B.'s "Airplanes," Jay-Z and Mrs. Keys for "Empire State of Mind," Jay and Swizzy for "On To The Next One" and Usher for "O.M.G.". Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem were all nominated for "Forever". Kid Cudi and Janelle Monae also grabbed a nomintation each.
Rihanna surprisingly only grabbed 1 nomination for "Best Editing" for "Rude Boy"..which is kind of weird. I think she def. deserves more. Rude Boy was #1 on the charts for a minute, and shes only nominated for the editing in the 'Rude Boy' music video? ...SMH @MTV
